IS THAT A JOKE? SaaS founder spotted cleaning after two DOGS instead of replying to email received FOUR minutes earlier

A SaaS founder has been accused of “worrying operational disengagement” after being seen cleaning up after his two dogs instead of replying to an email received four minutes earlier.

Miles Poop, founder of workflow platform, reportedly left the email unanswered while holding two leads, three biodegradable bags and what one investor described as “a shocking lack of urgency.”

The email, sent at 6:42 a.m., had the subject line “quick one” and contained four paragraphs, two Loom links, a pricing question, a request for feedback on Q3 positioning and the sentence “no rush, but would love your thoughts today.”

At 6:46 a.m., Poop was still outside.

“That’s when people started to worry,” said one senior advisor. “Four minutes is a long time in founder time. You can raise a bridge round, rewrite a homepage or destroy company culture in four minutes.”

Witnesses said Poop appeared calm as he attended to what he later called “a biological stakeholder issue.”

“I wasn’t ignoring the business,” he said. “I was preventing a public incident involving two Labradors and a pavement outside a school.”

The board has asked for a full timeline of events, including why Poop chose to complete the dog-related task before sending at least a holding reply such as “on it,” “looping back shortly,” or the legally acceptable “good question.”

Employees have defended the founder, noting that he normally replies to messages within 90 seconds, including during dinner, dental appointments and once, allegedly, while under anaesthetic.

Critics remain unconvinced.

“This is how standards slip,” said one VC. “First it’s dog mess. Then it’s inbox batching. Then suddenly everyone thinks weekends exist.”

At press time, Poop had apologised for the delay and promised to maintain stronger founder availability, including pre-drafted responses for future canine emergencies.
